There are different kinds of search engines on the internet. The most used and known are Google and Bing. Wolfram Alpha is a little different. It is not a regular search engine it is a Computational Knowledge Engine. Wolfram|Alpha is an engine for computing answers and providing knowledge. It works by using its vast store of expert-level knowledge and algorithms to automatically answer questions, do analysis, and generate reports. So if you are looking for answers that are curated by humans not machines – this might very well be the search engine that will you give the answer you need.
